Jim McNulty’s future speculated with the Club
Barnsley defender and former captain Jim McNulty’s future at the club has been speculated about in recent days with many suggesting that the 29-year-old could soon be leaving the club in search of pastures new.
This is after he has lost his place at Barnsley in the last month. McNulty has gone from being the club captain to becoming a reserve for Adam El-Abd, who is on loan from Bristol City. The fact that McNulty had to lose his place to loan player is one of the reasons for the increased speculation, but manager David Flitcroft has rejected any suggestions of a move.
Defender Nathan Cameron is the new club captain and it looks like McNulty will not be winning back the captain’s armband anytime soon. Flitcroft has showered a lot of praise on the 29-year-old indirectly by saying that the player has not thrown the prams out of the pocket at this new situation.
Paul Murray dropped due to being Farcical
Paul Murray is an English coach who took charge of the English League Two club Hartlepool United on October 23 of the current year but his stay with the team did not last long as he was sacked and removed from the managerial position after only 6 weeks.
This news is something that the coach of Bury FC, David Flitcroft finds to be ‘’farcical’’
‘’When I see the Hartlepool manager getting sacked after seven games, it’s become farcical. The world of football has become farcical. I think that heaps pressure on everyone at a football club’’ David Flitcroft said.
During the playing career of Paul Murray, he managed to make over 90 appearances for Hartlepool United as a player but even with the trust and contributions that he had made with his former club, they did not have enough patience with him to not allow him stay for more than 6 weeks as a coach.
David Flitcroft is not the only football figure that has expressed his thoughts about the extremely quick sacking of Paul Murray from the managerial role at Hartlepool United as the manager of Oldham Athletic, Lee Johnson also had a few things to say concerning this surprising and harsh decision.
“It’s a joke isn’t it? Let’s be honest. They have brought in a rookie, given him seven games and then have got rid of him.It is something that is very wrong in football at the moment. Managers all over the place are under pressure and it is having a real effect on English football. We are looking at wanting England to win the World Cup and bringing English managers through but we are making knee-jerk reactions.
“If you are going to give someone the opportunity to have a first-time job then you have to stick with them, because nobody can perform miracles with what was very poor recruitment before his term’’ Lee Johnson said as he expressed how wrong of that decision in his point of view it was to sack Paul Murray in such a quick manner.
Bury making impressive performances
Bury is making their way to the top of League Two with impressive performances every week, the team of David Flitcroft has been collecting points almost every time a match is played. These opening 12 matches of the season have been splendid for Bury as the club is turning things around from the previous campaign when they were at the brink of being relegated and now are making a genuine charge for the top spots of the English League and could even be on their way on earning a promotion spot.
All of the positive results that Bury has been collecting have surely been bringing a smile to the supporters of the club which have recently witnessed the passing away of Fred Mason.
Fred Mason passed away on September 26 after suffering from a long illness.
David Flitcroft expressed his grief and mourning concerning the passing away of Fred Mason, the former president of Bury as the coach of the English club.
“The team talk before the game was about Fred and we had the black armbands on as well, but unfortunately we couldn’t get it. It’s a sad thing to say, but I think he would have been happy last week to see Bury top of the league and the performance we put in after the few years when the club went astray. Massive sadness obviously for the loss of a great man I am just glad we were able to give him the sendoff against Burton that he fully deserved.” Flitcroft said.
Players, fans and staff members have expressed their own emotions in relation to the death of Fred Mason with twitter messages and statements through the press. The final match that Fred Mason attended was Bury’s match against Burton Albion as he witnessed his club claiming the victory and move to the top of League Two.
