Birmingham city manager Lee Clark says that he is confident that the club can avoid relegation this season if they managed to get four points between now and the end of the season.
After going through several financial difficulties during the last few years, Birmingham are struggling down near the bottom of the table. If they go down, it would be financial meltdown at St Andrews. Hence, Clark has been given the task of keeping the club in the division and he is quite confident of it.
Birmingham still have two matches in the league, but they have fallen into the relegation zone due to a disastrous run of form that has seen them suffer four consecutive defeats. However, they are just one point below safety. The form of teams above them has been so poor that Birmingham will be able to get out of the relegation zone with only one win according to the manager. Since the 3-1 win over Doncaster Rovers a few weeks ago, the team has suffered defeats against Middlesbrough, Nottingham Forest, Blackburn command Leeds United.
During this period, Birmingham have found it not difficult to score goals, but keeping clean sheets has been a major problem. The remaining two matches of the season will be against Wigan and Bolton Wanderers.
“We’ll get four points in the next two games and, if the first three come tomorrow night, that’s brilliant” he told the sports site duitsland portugal odds. “But we’ve certainly got to make sure that, when we go to Bolton on Saturday afternoon, our destiny is in our own hands (a point against Wigan will take them out of the bottom three). If we do that, we will be in a fantastic position. We’ll do what I believe we can do and stay in the League,” said the manager, who has also refused the talk of leaving the club.
