Bury have continued to confound expectations as the League two 2nd placed team have continued their brilliant run of form. Bury are yet to lose in the League in 2019 and recently defeated Stevenage away 1-0 to keep their title challenge on track.
In what was a scrappy game by Bury standards they did enough to secure a hard-fought win courtesy of a goal from Nicky Maynard. After the game Bury manager Ryan Lowe was delighted with how his team was able to adjust to their opposition tactics.
According to him, the game was not the best entertainment wise but the team has to contend with similar tactics from other teams as the promotion race heats up. Bury next faces struggling Cambridge United at home on Friday in what is a chance to reduce the lead at the top to just two points.
Lowe is expecting a similar scenario in which the opponent would put bodies in front of goal and try to make the game more physical but he is convinced that Bury can grind out wins in this situation.
Bury have the advantage over Lincoln City in the run-in as the leaders have to face four of the top six teams in their last nine fixtures. They would be looking to start this run with a comprehensive defeat at home to Cambridge United on Friday.
Bury have a large injury-free squad and are expected to go all the way by their fans this season.
